It was a fierce encounter the authorities had that resulted in at least 16 suspects killed in a gunbattle. My salute to the authorities for their efforts. It turned out hundreds of victims died in the hands of the family syndicate who were government politicians.
They not only had power and influence, but also guns and fighting private armies disguised as security agents. My sincere salute. If we can have strong and determined police and soldiers like those in Ozamiz I am sure the criminals will have second thought about committing crimes.
Ozamiz residents have declared they are much safer now with the destruction of a crime empire. Cagayan de Oro has always been the dumping ground of criminals from Davao and Osamiz. The criminals feel they are welcomed in our city that is what the friendly city is all about.

The revelations of the wife were supported by documentary evidence that are more than enough to prove the guilt of the husband who incidentally is connected with the government. With the commissioner’s salary and allowances, I cannot figure out how he can accumulate such assets in just a few years of employment.
I have doubt if the chief commissioner could explain his ill-gotten wealth.
An investigation body should be created to dig deeper into the mess. I am not saying the commissioner is guilty of any offense but the matter is truly disturbing.
The Comelec office has figured in many controversies especially during election seasons. One time a politician described the agency as one that does not know how to count. We must eliminate people suspected of corrupt practices and this should be done in all government offices.

I don’t know how true it is but according to Internet news, the United States is considering an airstrikes against the ISIS terrorists now fighting in Marawi City. If this happens, I would say targets would be more precise hitting the Maute-ISIS badly and perhaps it would end the struggle.
The United States is always concerned on the activities of the terrorists. Australia and other countries are helping feed the hungry evacuees dislocated in Marawi. I am really sad that more than two months have elapsed and the fighting is still raging while the civilians are having extreme difficulties in their lives away from home. I have been praying quietly the issue involved will be ended with the terrorists defeated. They should be buried six feet below the ground.

The leftists who were appointed by President Duterte in the cabinet should be removed from the problem with the NPA has even worsened. Ambushes persisted at government’s expense and a lot of civilians and soldiers have been killed. It is useless to have the communists join our system because their objective is to perpetuate power and take-over of our system. I really think fighting is the only solution for them. It has been fifty years and the rebels are still disturbing the peace and order of the country. The rebels have exceedingly abused our patience that actually affected our resources and public funds. If our leaders do not understand the scenario, I guess it is time for them to step out of the way to enable us to organize a more intelligent group for such purpose.

The revelations made by the wife of Comelec chairman relative to billions of property and cash in the name of her husband should be investigated by the authorities. I don’t think the wife was talking none sense just because they quarrelled on some issues. I really think the husband has committed something ugly that enabled him to accumulate huge amounts of money in the billions. The wife is also liable as a conjugal partner of whatever crime the couple had illegally committed.

I hope everybody is ready for the rainy days and flooding in our place. People should know where to run in case of emergency and where to get help if needed. No panic please, and take care of the small kids for safety. I understand there were already flooding in some areas of the country and I hope Cagayan de Oro will be safe. I have been saying there are only two seasons in our country and they are sunny and wet periods.

North Korea is like a mad dog looking for trouble just because it has powerful weapons to fight. This is definitely a bad attitude for anyone. Kim Jung Un should know better and embrace peace with any country around instead of making itself isolated. There is nothing better than peace and love on the surface of this planet. Besides, the country is endangering humanity with its weapons of mass destruction. It has been barking wildly the United States for war.

The remains of then President Marcos are resting peacefully at the Libingan Ng Mga Bayani and still some people wanted them exhumed for no reasons at all but politics that just do not die. The highest court of the land has ordered them to stop their action and I hope things will be peaceful soon. Politics must end for people to go on with life. (Bennex News Service)
