Indonesian dancers from STIE Perbanas Surabaya

EXACTLY on Thursday (10/5), Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa Tari (UKM Tari) or Students’ Dancers Union STIE Perbanas Surabaya, Indonesia performed the cultural dance. These student-dancers made the audience excited. The student dancers with their colorful traditional dance costumes looked so fascinating.

This cultural event was held in Hall A Auditorium, STIE Perbanas campus 1, on Jalan (street) Nginden semolo, Surabaya, Indonesia.

The beautiful female students joining the dancers in this union were so compact. They performed some episodes telling the story about Calon Arang. It is a traditional dance from Kediri regency, but more popularly recognized in Bali Island. This dance is mostly related to some magic story, which is more commonly the dance story in Indonesia.

The manager of this Dance Union is Ranny Wahyuni Putri. She said that the Dance Union is now leading to Bali’s typical dances. It is more popular. This event is actually related to the world dance anniversary, which should be on April 29.  Hundreds of spectators attended this dance performance.

Even though, the college of STIE Perbanas Surabaya is in the field of Economics, the culture and traditional dances are still kept alive. Students are given opportunity to develop their talents of dancing. (DWR)
