WITH THE TRUMP-KIM STAND-OFF, THE WORLD NEEDS TO PRAY AS ONE NOW: I believe the world seriously needs to pray as one nowadays, with North Korea’s Kim Jong Un’s threat to “tame the mentally deranged US dotard with fire”.
Kim’s threat was in response to an earlier pronouncement before world leaders in the UN by US President Donald Trump (the “US dotard” or “old senile person” Kim referred to) that the US will totally destroy North Korea if it continues to pursue its nuclear program. As if on cue, Kim’s foreign minister, Ri Yong Ho, said Kim may explode a hydrogen bomb in the Pacific real soon.
To me, Kim’s threat is truly frightening, not only because he has already shown his capacity to explode missiles across the Pacific Ocean where the Philippines lies, but more because the Bible says there is really a “day of fire” that is coming to earth at some point in time.

THE US-NORTH KOREA ROW MAY USHER IN THE BIBLICAL “DAY OF FIRE”: What is the “day of fire” that the Bible said will hit the earth? Let us look into two specific verses from the Old and the New Testaments of the Bible. The first one is Malachi 4:1, while the second is found in 2 Peter 3:10-12.
“…`Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and the day that is coming will set them on fire,’ says the LORD Almighty. `Not a root or a branch will be left to them’…” is how Malachi 4:1 describes this day.
2 Peter 3:10-12 talks about the same thing: “But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth
and everything done in it will be laid bare… That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat…”

ACCEPTING JESUS AS GOD AND SAVIOR: I believe that what is happening between the US and North Korea now may bring abou the fulfillment of these Biblical prophecies. As far as I am concerned, I am convinced that these prophecies pertaining to the “day of fire” are true and will happen, in much the same way that the Biblical prophecies about rains, floods, and winds are now happening.
It is therefore gravely important for believers to know the role they will be playing in the event that the “day of fire” comes---or are believers even aware that they do have a role to play when this calamity finally strikes? As in the days when God rained down sulfur and fire on the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, believers are to assume the role of intercessors, for those who are truly righteous.
We must strive hard likewise to bring as many people back to God as possible, through a genuine repentance of our sins, and a true and sincere returning to God through earnest reading of His Word, the Bible, and obeying all His commands written in that book. For Christians, the first step really is accepting Jesus as God and Savior, and as God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
