Cagayan
de Oro City –On February 8-9, 2019, the TESDA Northern Mindanao
Region will host the 2nd National Directorate Conference which will
be participated by the Agency’s top executives led by its Director General
Secretary Isidro S. Lapeña, PhD., CSEE.
The conference will gather top officials from
the various regions to share their best practices, discuss the agency’s
progress of accomplishments and other issues. More importantly, the TESDA Chief
Secretary Lapeña will set the Agency’s directions or program action agenda for
2019 and the coming years.
The Agency’s Chief will lay down his priority
directions anchored on the societal goal of the present administration’s
development plan which is in pursuit towards helping address armed conflict
through Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
Emphasizing the crucial role of the agency in
the national development and ensuring peace and order, the TESDA Secretary
pushes his directive to ascertain TVET programs have reached the unreached, where
those who have less in life would have more in
opportunities to increase their chances to secure their own livelihood,
self-employment or inclusion in the labor market.
The TESDA-10 Regional Director Tarhata S.
Mapandi, CESE took the opportunity to host the Conference to showcase the
Region’s best practices in managing Tech-Voc programs as well as the plenteous
resources in the region including the Farm School in Bukidnon.
