OZAMIZ City, Misamis Occidental--Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) region 10 conducted an orientation on the amended omnibus guidelines in the implementation of supplementary feeding program (SFP) to child development workers on September 14, 2017 at Johanns Convention Center, Ozamiz City.
The activity is aimed to provide the participants with skills and knowledge to the amended SFP guidelines; create uniform understanding on the master listing and database of SFP; be able to create importance on weight monitoring among children beneficiaries and be able to increase program accomplishment every cycle of SFP implementation.
SFP should take over implementation and monitoring of all day care children for the 120 days supplementary feeding.
Target Beneficiaries are two to four year old children; three to four year old children enrolled in Child Development Centers (CDC); five year old children not enrolled in CDCs and; 5-12 years old malnourished children outside the Child Development Center.
Juvy Anne C. Pimentel, nutritionist dietitian told the daycare workers to continue their hard work and passion to serve our vulnerable children especially those malnourished children so that we can sustain this supplementary Feeding Program.
Meanwhile, Ozamiz City Councilor April Mecaros said this program ensures total development of the child through giving proper nutrition.
She added that the Local Government Unit of Ozamiz City fully supports the program of the present administration in making sure that our communities work as one geared towards progress thus contribute to a better and brighter Philippines.
DSWD has two batches: first batch held at Johanns Cuisine, Ozamiz City and the second batch held at Farmers Hall Gym, Oroqueta City.
Participants to the activity are representatives from Ozamiz city, Tangub city, Don Victoriano, Bonifacio, Clarin, Tudela, Jimenez, Sinacaban towns. (Shaine Mae R. Nagtalon/PIA10)
