Last April 28, Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy launched a summer basketball clinic at the Macanhan Covered Court in Cagayan de Oro City.
A basketball enthusiast himself, the vice mayor initiated the sports activity to help participants develop their individual basketball skills.
Vice Mayor Uy expresses hopes that this activity will encourage children to get into sports instead of online games and illegal drugs.
The free workshop also aims to foster teamwork, friendship and camaraderie in and out of the basketball court.
At the end of the clinic, the participants will showcase what they have learned, as a basketball tournament is now being prepared for them. (The Power)
